This season gIRLS aBOUT pECKHAM selected two designers to present their digital fashion film at London Fashion Week at the emerging home of fashion Fashion Scout.

EULALEE is a brand using material development combined with historical and political analysis to shed light on overlooked social issues through design, using sustainable materials and practices, creating jewellery, garments, art and films.

The aim of EULALEE pieces is to trigger uncomfortable conversations stimulating social change, by presenting real experiences and traumas as art and design to make them visible and tangible so they can be addressed. Eulalee originates from studying the past to imagine new futures, and represent the nuance and history of the black experience which have currently been erased.

All the works begin with personal experiences from the designer (ensuring authenticity and intension) which are then contextualised and deconstructed before being reformed into works of art which tell that story and the stories of other marginalised groups but presented through designs that create inclusive debate to shift perspectives.

The brand name EULALEE pays homage to the designer’s late grandmother, who belonged to the Windrush generation and had a unique and innovative personal style which helped her to deal with the pressures of immigration to Britain by staying true to herself, wearing atypical jewellery and garments. This unapologetic self expression formed the inspiration for the brand, creating bespoke pieces which boldly tell the stories of the people for the people.
